Event Information

Friday, Oct 2nd - Sunday, Oct 4th
Registration is Friday from 6:30pm-7:30pm.
Campers will not be able to check-in prior to 6:30.
Camper Pick-up is Sunday from 12:30pm-1:00pm.
Pickup/drop-off are in The Tab, the big gray building you’ll see when you first pull into camp.

🍕 At the Snack Shack Friday night, Pizza will be sold for $2/slice in the event your camper was unable to eat prior to registration. 🍕

This event is open to youth in Grades 6th - 12th.

First time at a Suncrest weekend retreat? Here’s what to expect.

From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, campers will have an awesome time with both old and new friends. During services, big games, and cabin times; youth will learn about the one true God who created them, loves them, and sent His son Jesus for them.

We have some new campers every time, so you/your child will not be the only new camper to join us!

Co-Director/Speaker: David Hardie

The one and only “David mmmm J mmmm Hardie” will be directing Flannel Jam this year!

Dave is a youth ministry veteran having served as pastor for many years, as well as various Suncrest roles, including our former camp president. Many current camp counselors and directors had Dave as a director in their formative years, and he’s excited to join us in this role again.

Dave will bring tons of energy, crazy stories, and a passion for seeing people come to truly know Jesus at Suncrest Camp this year. In his messages, you’ll be challenged to keep your eyes on Jesus!

Co-Director: Tara Hardie

Tara Hardie is not only Dave’s awesome wife, but herself has done years of ministry in the lives of kids and teens. She’s both a fantastic artist and a caring friend ready to come alongside people and support them in their walk with Jesus. Tara loves going above and beyond to make events amazing, so we can’t wait to see her creative vision brought to Flannel Jam this year!

Worship Led By

Seek 1st

Our worship music will be led this year by Seek 1st. They’re local worship leaders who will be familiar to some in the area.

Here’s what your camper will need to have packed.

  • Bible/Notebook

    • We keep some free Bibles on hand, so please let us know if you don’t have one.

  • Clothes and shoes that you can run around in

    • Flannel!

    • We recommend a second pair of shoes in case one gets wet.

    • Please pack some extra clothes for either wet/messy games.

  • Cash for Snack Shack (Optional)

    • Pizza will be sold for $2/slice on Friday.

    • Snacks/drinks are in the $1-$3 range.

    • Campers can bring extra $ for band merch.

  • Bedding for Twin Mattress (Sheets/Blankets/Sleeping Bag) and Pillow

    • It can get cold at night, so please pack an extra blanket and hoodie.

  • Toiletries and Bath Towel(s)

  • Prescription Medications

    • Please put in a Ziploc bag, and label with camper name and parent’s phone number.

    • For safety reasons, campers are not allowed to keep medication on them/in their belongings. However, counselors can access medications at any time of day.

  • Reusable Water Bottle

    • If possible, please put camper’s name on the water bottle.

  • Umbrella/Rain boots

    • While not a necessity, these can be nice to have.

  • Note about Weather/Camp Conditions:

    • Please be aware that Suncrest does not have cooling/heating. This has not been a problem for us, but please be prepared. Please pack extra socks, sweatpants, hoodie, shoes - just in case anything gets wet.

Here’s a few Flannel Jam specific reminders!

  • Be ready for cold weather.
    Please keep in mind that we have no heated facilities at Suncrest Camp. This is not a problem for us at camp, we just want people to come prepared. We recommend packing an extra blanket, extra hoodie, and an extra pair of shoes in case one pair gets wet.

  • You can arrive late if you have after-school activities.
    Drop-off is officially from 6:30-7:30 PM, but we often have campers with after-school commitments. If you have to get to the camp late Friday night, or Saturday morning, that’s fine! If you have a Saturday or Sunday commitment, those can be accommodated, too. Just let us know so we can plan accordingly! Please email us at info@suncrestcamp.com if you plan on coming late.

  • Youngest & oldest campers are not in the same cabins.

    We split the campers into different cabins based on different age tiers, with counselors assigned to the age groups they’re best suited for. This helps us to have cabin time discussions that are more geared towards specific age groups.

  • We accept walk-on registrations.
    If you know for sure that you’re coming, we recommend that you sign up, ASAP! However, we also do accept walk-ons. So, if you find out last minute that you can come, then, come on out! And, don’t stop inviting your friends until you’re at Flannel Jam yourself!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We proactively focus on your child’s safety, and recruit our volunteers from churches and ministries that we know well. All Youth Camp Counselors will be a minimum of 18 years of age, but often many older adults are serving as well.
    All volunteers have all required background checks/clearances according to PA state law.

  • At preteen/teen ages, we give our campers some free time (within certain public areas) and the ability to go to their cabin on their own for rest. However, campers are still closely supervised throughout the day, and we encourage group activities. We have clear boundaries of where campers may be depending on time/camp activity.

  • Absolutely! While we highly recommend they join us for the entire event - we know some years that just won’t work. We can make accommodations, we just prefer to know ahead of time. Please email us at info@suncrestcamp.com and we’ll work out the details with you!

  • We have a wide variety of games and events so that regardless of interests and personality, there really is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the week. Campers will have a mix of free time, cabin discussion and prayer, worship services, and signature Suncrest-invented games and events.

    Most importantly, we intentionally spend time putting our focus on introducing campers to the Lord and encouraging everyone to seek the Lord Jesus above all.
