Event Information

First time at a Suncrest weekend retreat? Here’s what to expect.
From Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, campers will have an awesome time with both old and new friends. During services, big games, and cabin times; youth will learn about the one true God who created them, loves them, and sent His son Jesus for them.

Friday, Oct 3rd - Sunday, Oct 5th
Registration is Friday from 6:30-7:30 PM.
Campers will not be able to check-in prior to 6:30.
Pick-Up is Sunday at 12:30 PM.
Pickup and drop-off are in The Tab, the big gray building you’ll see when you first pull into camp.

This event is open to youth in Grades 6th - 12th.
Cost: $80

Blake and danielle Fillinger

Blake and Danielle are a married couple that loves Jesus and loves Suncrest Camp! Blake has been attending Suncrest since 2010, and both he and Danielle serve at Chippewa Alliance Church as volunteer youth group leaders. God has called Blake and Danielle into ministry, and has led them to various ways to serve Him over the years.

At Suncrest, they have been workers, counselors, and now directors. In their free time, they enjoy hiking, kayaking, playing board games, and cooking together. They can't wait to welcome you to Flannel Jam 2025!

Katie - Worship Leader

The most important thing about John and Katie is that they have been mercifully saved by Jesus.

John had served as a pastor in The Christian and Missionary Alliance for nearly a decade, but is now working at Geneva College. At Geneva, John is a part of the ministry of education that Geneva offers. Katie has served as a worship leader in plenty of settings over the years, and loves leading people to sing to the Lord.

They have 3 kids they love dearly, and a fourth kid on the way!

John and Katie are passionate about Jesus and seeing people come to know Him. At Flannel Jam, you’ll hear them talk about the Gospel - which is the good news of how one can be with God forever.

Wondering what you need to pack?

  • Bible

  • Bring your Flannel!

  • Clothes and shoes that you can run around in

    • Be prepared for different weather conditions, including wet grounds at camp.

  • Cash for snacks

    • Snacks/drinks are in the $1-$3 range.

  • Bedding for Twin Mattress (Sheets/Blankets/Sleeping Bag) and Pillow

  • Toiletries and bath towel

  • Prescription Medications

    • Please put in a Ziploc bag, and label with camper name.

  • Reusable Water Bottle

    • Please put your name on it somehow. We recommend with some painter’s tape and a sharpie.

  • Umbrella

Here’s a few Flannel Jam specific reminders!

  • Be ready for cold weather.
    Please keep in mind that we have no heated facilities at Suncrest Camp. This is not a problem for us at camp, we just want people to come prepared. We recommend packing an extra blanket, extra hoodie, and an extra pair of shoes in case one pair gets wet.

  • You can arrive late if you have after-school activities.
    Drop-off is officially from 6:00-6:30 PM, but we often have campers with after-school commitments. If you have to get to the camp late Friday night, or Saturday morning, that’s fine! If you have a Saturday or Sunday commitment, those can be accommodated, too. Just let us know so we can plan accordingly! Please email us at suncrestyouthcamps@gmail.com if you plan on coming late.

  • Youngest & oldest campers are not in the same cabins.

    We split the campers into different cabins based on different age tiers, with counselors assigned to the age groups they’re best suited for. This helps us to have cabin time discussions that are more geared towards specific age groups.

  • We accept walk-on registrations.
    If you know for sure that you’re coming, we recommend that you sign up, ASAP! However, we also do accept walk-ons. So, if you find out last minute that you can come, then, come on out! And, don’t stop inviting your friends until you’re at Flannel Jam yourself!
